Shrimp Pasta with Creamy Tomato Sauce

Shrimp Pasta with creamy tomato sauce is deliciuos, one pot recipe. Make restaurant quality pasta with a few simple ingredients at home. Add the suggested seasoning below or add seasoning of your choice.

Shrimp Seasoning

  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Pasta Ingredients

  • 12 oz raw shrimp (18-20 count peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil shrimp + 1 tbsp for onion
  • 1/2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion small sized (diced)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (14 oz)
  • 1/4 tsp each salt, black pepper & red chili flakes (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup parmesean cheese
  • 1/4 cup parsley (flat leaf )
  1. Pat dry your shrimp. Add the ingredients from the seasoning section. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.

  2. Press saute. Add 2 tbsp of olive oil and 1/2 tbsp of butter in your instant pot. Add the shrimp one by one and cook shrimp on both sides until its pink and opaque. (2 minutes each side)

  3. Remove the shrimp and set it aside.

  4. Add butter and olive oil. Add diced onion and saute until translucent.

  5. Add garlic and saute until fragrant (approx 1 minute). Do not burn the garlic.

  6. Add heavy whipping cream and spices listed above or of choice. Deglaze the pot. Make sure no bits are stuck at the bottom.

  7. Break pasta in half and layer it in alternating directions. Criss cross. Now add the crush tomatoes. Do not mix. Close the lid. Turn the knob to sealing position.

  8. Pressure cook for 8 minutes and then quick release.

  9. When the pin drops, open the lid and mix the contents. Note: Pasta may look watery. The excess water will be absorbed by the pasta as it cools down.

  10. Add parmesean cheese and parsely. Mix until the cheese melts. Then add the cooked shrimp. Mix and serve.

  • Water to pasta ratio 1 cup of water to 4 oz of pasta. 
  • Use any pasta of your choice but be sure to adjust the cooking time. 
  • Any size shrimp can be used. Size is per your preference. 
  • To avoid the burn sign, layer pasta in Crisscross style, add tomato sauce, and do not mix. 
  • Add any seasoning of your choice.
